Finance Director / Treasurer
The City of Kechi (KEE-chai), Kansas is a rural-suburban city that is experiencing robust growth in multiple areas: industry, retail, housing and the arts. The 2,000-plus residents enjoy Kechi's hometown feel and convenient, off-highway location just minutes from Wichita. The Finance Department has been an annual recipient of the Distinguished Budget Award from the Government Finance Officers Association. The City of Kechi is looking for an individual that can continue our growth in financial transparency, reporting, and administration.
The Finance Director / Treasurer is responsible for budget development, revenue and expense tracking, and financial management of City funds. This is a senior staff position reporting directly to the City Administrator. The Finance Director / Treasurer will be responsible for the management of Kechi’s finances, supervising two employees. The City of Kechi offers a competitive benefit package for employees. The position of Finance Director / Treasurer is salaried and classified as exempt. Entry level salary is $63,818, negotiable, depending on qualifications.
Requirements of the Position: Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, public administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred) plus 3 years of experience in financial management. Municipal experience preferred (Master's degree can substitute for experience).
Experience in budget analysis, trend analysis, and financial forecasting is highly desired.
Experience with gWorks Simple City Software (formerly Data Technologies Summit Accounting System) is preferred, but not required.
