Home improvement projects are encouraged in Kechi. Like many cities throughout the country, not all projects require a building permit. However, there are some projects that do. If you are planning a home improvement project, the below list will help you if a building and or zoning permit is required. Please keep in mind that this list is not exhaustive, call or stop by City Hall to see if your project requires a building or zoning permit.

• Framing Basement Walls
• Adding Daylight Window to Basement
• Changing Door or Window Opening Sizes
• Adding/Removing Door or Window Opening
• Storage Shed or Structure 200 sq ft or more
• New or Replacing Deck
  Includes covering or enclosing deck
• Roof and or Siding Replacement
• Furnace / Hot Water Heater / Air Conditioner / Condensing
  New or Replacement or Addition
• Adding Heat and or Air Conditioning Ductwork
• Installing New Fireplace
• Replacing Water, Sewar, or Gas Lines
